When the Travelfriend luggage started popping up on the blogosphere, I was excited to see something new and unique. The sleek form paired with leather and carbon fiber panels give it a very automotive feel, which is very appealing to me. The photos, with their private jets, helicopters, and Range Rovers, exude luxury. I was extremely impressed and I had to find out more.

So I was understandably disappointed when I went to the Henk website and was greeted by a gaudy Flash introduction video. Everything I saw after pressing the “Skip Intro” button was just as discouraging, from the terribly photoshopped mock ups to the overuse of the word retrofuturistic. I realize that the bags and the website are two separate things, but the quality of one reflects upon the quality of the other. I’ll give Henk the benefit of the doubt until I handle it in person; hopefully it lives up to the hype.
