Lanvin S/S 10 Bags

December 13th, 2009

Lanvin’s latest collection of bags for the upcoming Spring/Summer season is a mix of classically simple and runway loud. I’m not feeling those zig zags but I’m loving the white/brown colorway. Not much info yet, but as with anything Lanvin, you can expect luxury and dollar signs to go with it.

Johnson Woolen Mills has teamed up with Japanese retailer Beams to create this wool backpack. The shape of the bag looks great and the texture/patterns of the wool really give it some character. Its available at Beams in three different colorways.

If you’ve read my previous post about The North Face Purple Label, you already know my gripe with their backpacks. But I can’t deny their charm and it seems like people really like them. The newest collection of their products is available at nanamica. There’s a range of interesting materials used, the oddest being fleece. [...]

Every time these two brands mate, they seem to produce beautiful offspring. I really like the tonal navy color that they chose for these bags (Ballistic 20L Backpack and Ballistic 8L Lumber). In this case, the bags aren’t that much different from what Visvim usually has to offer except for the small, white SOPHNET tag [...]

Visvim Ballistic 22L Backpack

October 31st, 2009

You know this Visvim fanboy can’t pass up the opportunity to post about the Ballistic backpack. This new version is two liters too big for my liking, but I love the tonal grey colorway. The already functional backpack now features a side zipper, although I’m not sure what purpose it serves. Available at honeyee.

Environmentally-friendly LIKeEARTH has teamed up with The North Face for this version of their classic Purple Label backpack. Unlike other backpacks by The North Face, this one is made with organic canvas. I’ve actually owned this backpack (in another colorway) and I must warn prospective buyers: although you will get many compliments, it’s extremely uncomfortable and [...]

Master-piece collaborates with bike maker Koichi Yamaguchi on this great looking, almost too functional backpack. That’s a ridiculous amount of pockets. Available at tokishirazu.

Duluth Pack x Inventory

October 21st, 2009

Duluth Pack is one of the first collaborators with the brand new Inventory Magazine (formerly h(y)r collective). They’ve created this Utility Bag which is a slightly altered version of Duluth’s 51 pack. It’s a little too thin for my taste, but it would be nice for days when you’re carrying a light load. What I [...]

Check out this Honeyee feature entitled Bag in the Days, a photo article that showcases bags by Nike, United Bamboo, Foundation Addict, APC, Rock Steady, nonnative, and Head Porter. None of the bags really stand out to me, especially when they’re overshadowed by a hot Japanese model. Apparently her name is Iruka. I’m gonna go [...]

Porter x Original Fake

October 20th, 2009

Original Fake has teamed up with Porter to create a simple backpack and tote bag. The relatively subtle pieces feature a khaki/green outer with the Kaws all over print. The bags themselves are extremely boring, but I think the Kaws print gives them some character. Available at colette.
