Oak received some new bags and wallets from Surface to Air. The collection uses 100% calf leather in various treatments including textured and patent. My favorite is the Carbon Big Wallet because of the grey textured leather, but the wallet itself seems really inconvenient with its many zippers and sideways slots.

Opening Ceremony is hooking up with everyone, that slut of a brand. This time it’s with famed leather goods company, Billykirk. The diverse collection includes many Billykirk-style bags and cases in bright, non-Billykirk-style colors. Personally, I don’t think the rainbow colors are a good look for any leather goods. The only bags I like in [...]

I didn’t really know how to categorize this bag, since it caters to such a specific profession: bartending. The Meehan Utility Bag by Moore & Giles gets its namesake from mixologist Jim Meehan. The bag includes compartments for all your mixing needs and is available with an optional bar-roll up. I had no idea there [...]

The Brothers Bray & Co. (the offspring of Billykirk and Urban Outfitters) have released a new weekend bag. This is a really great looking bag, with canvas outer, leather details, and integrated pockets. The only thing that I don’t like is the bright red vinyl lining on the inside. I think they could have gone [...]

Head Porter released a short lookbook in the most recent issue of Smart Magazine. There isn’t any specific info on the various bags, but the patterns and materials look great. I feel that it’s really important to see how a bag looks in context, so I like that the bag collection is presented as if [...]

Take a look at Krane’s upcoming bags for spring/summer 2010 at their website. The collection includes duffles, shoulder bags, a backpack, laptop case, and more. Each bag is available in black, olive, or tan waxed cotton or, my personal favorite, black leather. The piece that really stands out for me is the Fletcher duffle, pictured [...]

Check out these great holdalls from Moore & Giles, now available at Blackbird. They come in overnight or weekend sizes in either tan or chocolate colors. Although they look bare on the outside, the interior features three compartments. They also include luggage tags and a adjustable/removable shoulder strap.

Judging just by shape and form, I would have thought these Issac Reina bags were boring. But thanks to the beautiful grey deerskin suede, they’re noteworthy. The bag will be available soon in 24 or 48 hour sizes.

I was excited when I saw that Raf Simons and Fred Perry were collaborating on a bag, but after seeing the pictures I was somewhat disappointed. These two designers are both known for their simple and understated pieces, but I feel like this bag goes past simple, to the verge of boring. It’s available now [...]
