Mismo presented their latest collection at last weekend’s (capsule) show in New York and will be showing it again this weekend at (capsule) Paris. The bags feature a Mismo-exclusive full grain leather, which exude quality. The laptop briefcase is easily the most exciting bag from the collection.

My briefcase hunt is officially over. Now on to the difficult process of raising funds to buy it.

I was so impressed by KILLSPENCER’s briefcase, and all of their bags for that matter, that I spent days trying to articulate my thoughts into a blog post. Good looks, heavy duty materials, laptop compartment, zippers, buckles, pockets… everything I love and require in a bag. KILLSPENCER’s products are made of both old-school military materials and new-school performance materials. Each bag is, as the founder puts it, engineered to solve a problem. Overall, a beautiful marriage of form and function embodied in a bag.

And on a side note, it’s good to see quality product coming out of LA, the 818 to be specific.

Don’t be alarmed by the upcoming onslaught of briefcases, I’m currently looking for something to use for when a backpack would be inappropriate.

And first in line is the Journalcase, by Denmark-based company Bythreads. The relatively new brand prides themselves on their minimal and clean designs. Personally, I prefer my bags to have a little more bulk and pockets, but if your laptop is the only thing you need to carry, this bag would be a great choice.

After months of anticipation, the ACL shop is finally open. In addition to the house brand, ACL & Co., there are also a few collaborations with Billykirk, Cole, Rood, & Haan, and Mark McNairy. Luckily for me, the majority of the items in the shop are bags: breifcases, laptop sleeves, and small zipper bags. If only there were a 13″ laptop sleeve, I’d be all over it. It’s great to see ACL founder Michael Williams turn his blog into a brand, not to mention working with established designers right from the start. I’m excited to see where the brand and blog will go from here.

More than meets the eye! I’m truly amazed by this three-in-one transforming bag that can function as a messenger bag, backpack, and briefcase. The bag is the product of a collaboration between Stone Island Shadow and Bagjack. From a distance, it looks like a simple, all-black bag. But upon closer inspection, you’ll find a very subtle red pattern on the Trylon and felt panels. The bag(s) is available now at The-Glade.

This weekend, American designer Thom Browne unveiled his spring 2010 menswear line. Among the nautical-themed clothing was a suitcase and a large tote. The suitcase is covered in colored seashells (yeah, I thought they were giant reptile scales at first too) in grey or black. The tote, surprisingly subtle compared to the rest of the line, comes in black, grey, or tan canvas.
